Update from Sarah MacGibbon - Sponsored Figure Skating Athlete
The NZIFSA camp held in Queenstown April 10-12, that I attended with the help of Back in Motion, was really great. We skated on average 4 hours a day and had off ice and dance sessions. I really enjoyed training with other skaters from around New Zealand.
On the 30th April I had my Gold Stroking test here in Dunedin and passed, this test was a prerequisite in order to compete this season in Senior Ladies.
The next competition coming up is at the end of June, here in Dunedin and is the DISC Championships. I am excited to get back into competing although aware that I have to take things slow coming back from an injury. I am looking forward to the build up to attaining and beating my previous personal bests.
After the competition in July I will be performing in the Cadbury Week Ice Show: Freddo Frog and the Ice Princesses, which is also here in Dunedin!
